(DInSAR) is an exciting and emerging technology with the potential to revolutionise the way we monitor mine subsidence.

DInSAR provides an opportunity for whole site monitoring of mine subsidence as a complementary system to current geodetic point to point methods.

 

However, before DInSAR can become a mainstream monitoring technique, it must be rigorously tested and validated against traditional methods. Furthermore, no

new technology will be successful without the support of the industry and the regulating authorities. Finally, the education and empowerment of potential users

must be addressed and well implemented.
