Performance and Capabilities

The Institute for Meteorology and Geophysics, University of Innsbruck (2004) believes DInSAR has the capacity to map vast areas to the order of a few millimetres to several metres a year . University of Innsbruck (2004) also states that using the PS (Permanent Scatters- such as exposed rock or a building) technique individual objects can be observed to a displacement accuracy of 1 to 3 millimetres.

The Institute for Meteorology and Geophysics, University of Innsbruck (2004) maintains that DInSAR has the capability to correct errors due to geometric decorrelation, temporal decorrelation, and the atmosphere, if a long series of satellite data is available.
