Land Tenure

Land is the ultimate resource without which life cannot be sustained. Land administration systems ensure that everyone's right to access land is secured. We investigate how land information can empower and modernise land administration systems. Our research includes technical and institutional aspects of 2D and 3D cadastral systems in developing and developed nations' contexts. Our current projects include:

  • Underground urban land administration (2020-2023)
  • Digital ledgers to modernise cadastral survey marks (2021-2024)
  • 3D cadastral database systems (2022-2024)
  • Land information challenges in informal settlements of Fiji (2023)
